Job Summary
Are you passionate about outdoor living and skilled in sales? We’re looking for a motivated and personable In-Home Deck Sales Consultant to join our growing team. Your primary responsibility will be to meet with homeowners, assess their vision for outdoor spaces, and provide tailored deck design and build solutions. You’ll guide them through material options, design features, and the build process—turning backyards into dream outdoor living areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with Homeowners: Travel to client homes for on-site consultations focused on new deck builds, deck replacements, or extensions.
- Assess & Design: Evaluate space, gather measurements, and understand the homeowner’s goals, style preferences, and budget.
- Present Solutions: Educate customers on various decking materials (composite, PVC, wood), railing styles, and structural upgrades.
- Proposal Generation: Build custom proposals and pricing estimates using tools like SketchUp or deck design software.
- Follow-Up: Proactively follow up with leads to answer questions and secure contracts.
- Customer Relationships: Build rapport to encourage referrals and repeat business. Be a trusted advisor, not just a salesperson.
- Collaborate: Coordinate with the production and project management teams to ensure design accuracy and project success.
- CRM Management: Maintain thorough records of customer interactions, measurements, and project notes in the CRM.
- Meet Sales Goals: Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in in-home sales or deck/outdoor product sales preferred.
- Knowledge of deck construction, local codes, and common materials is a strong plus.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to create conceptual designs or learn basic design tools like SketchUp or deck-specific software.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed.
